Mr. Oliver was Senior Vice-President, Atlantic Region, Bank of Nova Scotia from 2004 until his retirement in 2009. Mr. Oliver was appointed the Independent Chairman of the Company in August 2002.

Mr. Brough was President of Wittington Properties Limited (Canada) and Torwest Inc., (U.S.) real estate development companies, from 1998 until his retirement in December 2007.

Mr. Carrington was Vice-Chairman and a director of Barrick Gold from 1999 through 2004. Prior to that Mr. Carrington was Chief Operating Officer of Barrick from 1996 until February 2004.

Mr. Huxley was most recently a principal of Algonquin Management Inc., the manager of the Algonquin Power Income Fund, since 1997 to his retirement in 2006.

Mr. Irving was formerly Chief Executive Officer of Irving Oil. He joined Kinross' Board of Directors in August 2011.

Mr. Keyes most recently held the position of President and Chief Operating Officer of Battle Mountain Gold Company from 1999 to his retirement in 2001.

Mr. Macken is currently Chairman and Independent Director of Western Lithium USA Corporation. He retired as President of Ivanhoe Mines Ltd. in April 2012, a position he held since January 2004.

Ms. McLeod-Seltzer is Chairman and a director of Pacific Rim Mining Corp. ("Pacific Rim"). She has been an officer and director of Pacific Rim since 1997.

Ms. Power is currently CFO and SVP, Corporate Planning and Business Development, of Nexen Inc., a former publicly-traded company that is a wholly-owned subsidiary of CNOOC Limited.

Mr. Reid retired as Vice-Chairman of CIBC Wood Gundy in 1997 after a career there spanning 31 years, during which he provided investment banking services to many of Canada's leading corporations.

Paul Rollinson was appointed to the Kinross Board and as Chief Executive Officer on August 1, 2012.

Ms. Woods is currently Chief Operating Officer of Osler, Hoskin & Harcourt LLP, one of Canada’s leading business law firms, a position she has held since January 2008.
